Sean Driscoll

More than you need to know

Sean Driscoll grew up in a small, rural farming town somewhere in California that no one's ever heard of, moved many times to a series of bigger and bigger cities and ended up a professional musician living in Brooklyn, NY.

Along the way, one of his early bands managed to win Best Unsigned Band in a contest by Musician Magazine, he earned a Master's Degree in music composition, studied with premier players and teachers in Boston and counts among his friends and acquaintances some of the best musicians in the world.

He has worked and performed with Sting, Jonatha Brooke, Gary Burton, Antonio Sanchez, Duncan Sheik, Clay Aiken, Mario Cantone, Zakir Hussein and many of New York and LA's notable musicians. He has also performed on stage and in the pit of more than fifteen Broadway and off-Broadway shows.

Though primarily a guitarist, he is a multi-instrumentalist and has been known to perform on tres, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, bandoneon, piano, bass, drums and is secretly working on a few more.

His Broadway credits include in no particular order The Last Ship, Motown, Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Shrek, Godspell (revival), Take Me Along, Grease (revival), 9 to 5, Wicked, Book of Mormon, Baby It's You, Power Balladz, Altar Boys, Rooms, Spiderman: Turn off the Dark, In the Heights, Evil Dead, Mary Poppins and probably some others he's forgetting.

He has released two critically lauded CDs and an EP under his own name and currently gigs mostly in NY with his group.

He drives his neighbors crazy when he practices and his blog can be found at somuchsound.blogspot.com
